I have known Dr Nandra for the last 17 years. In that time he has been of exceptional character and honestly. In the profession he has added extremely good values not only in academic and clinical achievements within the dental field but also in his work for the community in Birmingham through his charitable work through and integral to his practice. I believe strongly that Anoup is a excellent candidate to win the young dentist award to recognize his achievements within the profession of dentistry. He work in the field of implantology has been revolutionary. He helped design and construct the currently used dio implant system and has been a pinnacle member of the running of this system in the uk. Anoup also has been very involved I the training and development of the newly qualified dentists as a vt trainer and also a clinical lecturer at Birmingham dental hospital. I have known Anoup for fifteen years when we started at dental school. From the very beginning og the course Anoup had a passion for dentistry. This was suprising because he had nobody else in his family who were dentists. He always loved to discuss different aspects of dentistry and this continued following graduation.

We have remained colleagues following graduation and his enthusiasm for dentistry has continued. We have met at various postgraduate courses and lectures. He has always been involved in some form of postgraduate study nd his interest in this remains as strong as ever. He regularly organises postgraduate talks and study groups at his dental practice which I also try to attend.

I regularly refer patients who require cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry or implant treatment. His dentistry is clinically excellent. However, of equal importance is his friendly and helpful manner which puts even the most nervous patients at ease. Patients are comfortable being treated by him. He explains any treatment to his patients in a professional and clear manner. Patients will often recommend him to their friends and family due to his caring and considerate nature.

I would certainly recommend Anoup for the young Dentist of the year award.
